In its fifth annual festival, GALA continues its collaboration with Madrid’s Casa Patas, the renowned cultural center for contemporary flamenco, to bring Washington audiences the best of this time-honored art form.
Choreographer and dancer Isabel López and other internationally acclaimed artists will raise the roof in four performances of mesmerizing flamenco. Presented in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain.
Performances are November 20, November 21, and December 5 at 8 pm, and November 22 and December 6 at 3 pm.

Aparicio Flamenco Dance Company

Saturday, December 5 at 8 pm and Sunday, December 6, 2009 at 3 pm

Edwin Aparicio, a fiery foot-stomping flamenco artist, and his outstanding group of dancers, cantaores, and guitarists from Los Angeles, New York, and Spain will take your breath away. Aparicio, featured in Dance Magazine annual “25 to Watch” list, combines a highly polished technique with innovative choreography exploring contemporary themes.

Single tickets are $30 and Student Tickets are $18. A Discount Festival Ticket is $50. Press Night for Flamenco desde abajo is Friday, November 20, and Press Night for Flamenco Deconstructed is Saturday, December 5.
