Written by poet and performer Quique Avilés, and directed by GALA's Associate Producing Director Abel López, join us for the Staged Reading of a new work created from stories from members of our diverse community, collected over two years through GALA's initiative Stories From The Park' N Lots under Project Director Antonio Montes.

For the past two years, GALA has held storytelling circles in which youth, seniors, business owners, artists, and residents share the meaning of community, what has changed, and where we are going. A community program to spur positive changes and bring people together for collaborative work. Story circles occur regularly and are announced on GALA's social media platforms.

This project is made possible with generous support from the Kresge Foundation. In partnership with Washington Parks & People, the Latin American Youth Center, District Bridges, Local Initiative Support Corporation, the Latino Economic Development Center, and the Washington Theatre Lab School of Dramatic Arts.
